Firefighters work to extinguish the flames of a structure fire on Bragg Street Sunday. The fire began shortly after noon, and emergency personnel were on the scene until after 8 p.m. A total of three buildings were reduced to rubble as a result of the blaze.

Pet Portraits: Cookie + Angleane

I’m officially settled in Kansas City, but before this place becomes an ode to the tall grass prairies of central Kansas, I have one last beach session to share.

Angleane caught me right before I moved out of Florida and we were able to squeeze in a quick Sunday sunset pet portrait session with her absolutely adorable pit bull mix, Cookie. Anyone who thinks pit bulls are dangerous or aggressive has clearly never been slathered with puppy kisses from one of these lovable goofballs.

Cookie did a great job showing us every side of her silly and loving personality. We tried to get some solo shots of her, but she was absolutely glued to her mama’s side--when she wasn’t trying to get pets from me that is.

We had a great time exploring the beach and capturing the special relationship between these two cuties. So much so that we actually went over our scheduled time--whoops! But it’s all good, because I’m so happy with how these turned out. The light was beautiful, the beach was beautiful, and most of all, the bond between Angleane and Cookie was beautiful.
